NAPESCO has held a celebration to mark World Environment Day. World Environment Day is observed every year on the 5th of June to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet Earth. It is run by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). The theme for 2016 is "Go Wild for Life" representing zero tolerance for the illegal wildlife trade.
A presentation was made to highlight why wildlife protection is a cause that everyone should get involved in and what can be done by individuals to support efforts to implement wildlife protection. Handmade birdhouses were awarded to employees as a way to encourage supporting wildlife.
Following the presentations, all employees went outside to reveal the new bird houses and feeding station that will be permanently installed on the NAPESCO property. This will allow a safe place for birds to nest and have access to food and fresh water during the hot summer months in Kuwait.
