Geo Technical & Material Testing

Geo Technical Investigations are performed to obtain information on the physical properties of soil and rock in and around a site to design earthworks and foundations for proposed structures.  NAPESCO offers a range of Geo Technical services for near-shore and land based projects.  These include:

Leak Detection and Repair

According to an estimate, up to 25 percent of solvent emissions can be attributed to equipment leaks.  Facilities can identify problem releases efficiently by implementing an LDAR program.  The International Clean Air Act requires refineries to develop and implement LDAR programs to control fugitive emissions.

Equipment leaks at refineries are responsible for significant amounts of emissions.  The intent of equipment leak regulations is to reduce or eliminate VOC emissions from leaking equipment using a monitoring work practice fo find leaks to they can be fixed.  This is achieved by establishing an LDAR program where components requiring monitoring are identified and then monitored at specified intervals to determine whether or not they are leaking.  The leaking components must then be repaired or replaced.
